Over the last few weeks I have seen the ending to a very long battle as well as a nytemare. Two weeks ago I attended just for crap and giggles the America's Next Top Model auditions at the Green T in Pocatello. I saw more puss in boots as well as other shoes than I had ever seen before in one place at least at the Green T in over 1 years.Getting to my associate Brian of the hosting TV station if he had put that much effort into finding female model talent for my ads , the ads of someone Brian was courting to possibly buy the same TV station he now manages I could have made some serious money over the last 4 months considering the bad cold and snowy winter we had here in Idaho. But no he would not do that and even when I tried to get something going he gets put off about it. To which I say Hong Kong Phooey. So instead of being pissed off I'm going to get more than even. So enuff with the Blues of Pocatello. What I did notice at those auditions however was this, the applying talent at the auditions were mostly from Idaho Falls, and some from Utah from a talent agency in Salt Lake City. There were none, absolutely none from BOISE, or the Magic Valley. Is it because Brian's station is not seen there as much or is it because that most in or near BOISE or for that matter near or in Hazzard are working, making good money both as models and other related things, I'll let you be the judge. Now then , in a bit over two weeks from now I go to Las Vegas to the National Association of Broadcasters convention there. I will meet and greet many in the industry as well as have a regional meeting with the media committee of The Hazzard County Knytes. If I can't get things starting to be turning around here media etc wise, at that meeting I'll get not only my wings clipped but will go from a stud to a gelding and will not be able to make many media deals as far as the Hazzard County Knytes are concerned. After the screw up in Wyoming, as well as the being somewhat conned in Pocatello, the Hazzard Knytes are not going to allow me to do much involving media as I have had the ability to do. So do I cut and run or do I look at things in a different light? Consider this, I just say piss on it in Pocatello, move my butt to say BlackFoot, or close by, put this together there and use that to rub Brian and KPIF's nose in it. Consider this; most of the talent I have talked to that were at the ANTM auditions said they learned of the gig, not by watching KPIF, but from flyers that had been circulated by Brian and a few others. Purtty bad when you have a TV station that by the highway was off the air most of the evening Tuesday, but a TV station with the signal strength that KPIF has and yet a bunch of folks are not WATCHING it. To spoof one of Brian's sales peoples ads, they say "You know advertising can play an important role in the success of any business." That is true, but if you buy ad time from KPIF and hardly anyone sees it ya'll might as well take a match to your cash. To ANYONE considering buying the tiny station in Pocatello/Chubbuck Idaho , beware, DON'T. Unless you can be satisfied that the current management and all of the station will not be there after you buy it.
