We are kicking six

The other day as I strolled into what has became my favorite afternoon settle it down spot this ten ton Tessie was there watting for her Latte and saw the hat that featured the patch of the BlackSheep and said I used to watch that show. The problem is the 214 is not just a TV show. Our High school history classes and teachers some how missed the roll call here cuzz they flat don't teac the history of WWII properly and exclude both the battles of the New Hebrides, the Solomon Islands and the slot as we called it, nor do they include much about the battles of the South Pacific , and dern well do not include shyt about the BlackSheep. Now I'm not squaking here about the 214 just because I am part of them, flew with them and still fly with the 214, nor am I howling just because a bunch of do gooders think that Pappy was a rotten drunk. But the problem is that of all air combat squadrons and no disrespect to any of the others but the most decoraed squadron of the big war and even now is the VMA 214 BlackSheep. As such we deserve a hell of a lot more respect and you know what we will soon get our just rewards. Last eve just before I tweeked the TV over to watch Star Trek Deep Space Nine, I was watching the local cable access channel here Vision 12. There was a small PSA style promo that asked for those wanting to put on programing to call and or come in and sign up. Guess what>? They are saying yes to ye ole AyreWolf here and the end goal is to finally tell the full story of the 214 and get it through the thick skulls into the clogged brains of some of the local educators that the 214 was not just a TV show, but a real honest to goodness Marine Corps air squadron that still is in operation. Yes the gig is going to run and run hard. But the end result? The squadron is going to get some deserved TV air time. Nuff sedd.
