AyreWolf's Blog – Life as viewed through the windshield Hear the howl of the Wolf: Yahoo needs to catch up on the times we live in but then Yahoo needs to catch up on Google and blogger. Yahoo is really hurting, but then maybe it's the Internet that is hurting. Have you noticed the limited amount of new or at least good results of a web search? I was scanning a recent article from PC Magazine that is claiming that a revision or at least a birth of something that would be called Internet 2. Now imagine if the internet was completely shut down to do a complete overhaul. Pop singer Elton John says that the Internet needs to be shut down to allow artists to catch up. Whatever. If we could have an upscaled totally free faster loading internet I'd go for that. If for once such things as being able to list a local job opening on say Yahoo, for free would be nice, since that can be done on such sites as say MySpace as well as Google. Oh yes I know the tech and other IT Geeks, need to make a dollar I'm hip to that, But what would it be like to getting back to the basics of the internet, where content is really better. Imagine being able to search for a hot gal in biker leather picture and not be directed to a porn site? How about having the thing localized so the thing would follow local values and cultures? Imagine being able to register a domain name without having to get out the credit card? Oh how grand would it be? My thoughts my opinions. Life as viewed through the windshield.
