By now most of you woke up hearing the news of the violence at Dekalb Illinois. When I hear about this kind of thing it makes me wonder are we as Americans in a nation of so called freedom, and being so called protected are we protected? Do our young people going off to college need to be packin heat just to survive at college? It's not just college, what about high school or even lower grades, does our teachers and school administrators need to be trained in use of firearms as well as the subjects they are teaching? When I see and hear about these kinds of things and then hear someone who told me just yesterday when I took Son-of-Fyre into getting a new fuel pump that kindness is not of the year 2008 that doing something good for someone is out dated then I can sort of see why someone pushed to their limits could do such violence against others. While I would never do such a thing especially over a $400.00 fuel pump R&R still the fact is students and our young people are getting hit over the head by not being able to work because simply the desire to work is no longer there. How do they know that even with school and college that there will be a job for them let alone a nation for them to work in after they graduate? It is a big question. Dee Snyder of the rock band Twisted Sister had a song a few years ago called," we aren't going to take it" The fact is most of us are not going to take it any more. The establishment we have in our governments both local as well as Federal are pushing people to the breaking point. Even technology that causes stress can make even the most devout Baptists Mormon's or any faith look to alcohol, porn or other escapes just to try to gain a state of mind and peace. Is there a cure yes, but it will no happen over night. Our nation is very much divided. The old adage of Divide and conquer is very much the aim of Al Quida and other groups around the world and as our nation becomes more divided the peace and freedom we now enjoy will be greatly threatened unless we elect folks who have a vision, a dedication and the tenacity to get people to look beyond themselves, to help others when it is needed and more over not just be looking at their wallet when someone asks for a bit of short term credit. Like for fixing Son-of-Fyre, Lets get someone in the White House from Hazzard County. Let's elect Cooter, or someone like Willie Nelson, or for that matter Shooter Jennings for President.
Mike HUckabee might be the one to get behind as he is after all from Arkansas. That is the land of Dixie.
