As I was talking I wonder sometimes at the mindset of Idaho, and at least Eastern Idaho. Why is there this big resistence to growth? Granted we all do not all want or need uncontrolled growth, so a stampede by anyone with any real smarts is just not going to happen in Pocatello. However my thinking is what is the shear resistance or hold back attitude to improving on what is already here, and a vfew smug ads reps, and media types considering that not everybody in these parts dresses in a suit and tie, but still might hold some serious green and might want to spend it with them. Granted I do not have a big label on my chest nor do I practice the majority religion here, which I feel needs to be reworked, a bit. If the LDS types want to preach and teach fine, but don't tell me to do he same, nor avoid or not talk to me regarding business just because, my name is not listed on the church registry. Consider this; and its nie that the time is of the Christmas season. When I barely hit 21 years old needing a cleaning a storage building on our farm that was built just to store my youth toys I gave nearly 15 families in our Hagerman Idaho area ward, with 12 or so kids a piece new or very nearly new toys. When My Dad passed away, the Relief Society and all came up to help mom, a lot. However a few years later when my Mom passed away not one of that ward came to the ranch before, during or even after the service to say, anything even a kind word would hve meant something. However, just a simple call from the Hazzard County Knytes the parent organization of the BlackSheep Vintage Aviation Association, and the entire cast of the Dukes-of-Hazzard showed up, along with members of the 214 and others. For the LDS church that was strike one. Strike Two came in Heyburn, when I got there needed a slight bridge before money came in from both the shop, tow trucks and he AyreWolf Aviaion, for the season. So I got a tmp job at DI, and I mean temp job. Thing was I pointed out a few shall we say environmental as well as safety concerns and well got burned, they fired me only after 3 days. And I'm supposed to be fine with that? I don't think so. Now my Granddad ran Sheep all over this area years ago even before Pocatello realy became even what it is albeit limited but thiung is the Sant name is known and respected all over this area but to get some of that respect from the local mdia types, nope. That is just not what is or evn what it used to be. . I can remember not too many years ago when not only Pocatello jealous of its northern neighbor of Idaho Falls , as well as a coment by national radio personality Paul Harvey said something like Pocatello was like a living Ghost town. So the city i you want to call it that, started putting things into place to change the face of Pocatello. The thing is it seems as if that all came apart at the seams and just crashed. There is a old fashioned notion that there is the State of Idaho and then there is the State of Ada. In essence the county of where our states capital and capitol is, which is Boise. Something happens there and I can't understand why the same thing can't happen elsewhere like say Pocatello? There is a concept that few who do not fly or even go trucking can't get their brains around the fact that even when ones in the media say this is a very small market, look at the expanse. From Eastern Idaho to both Wyoming Borders, from here to Sun Valley, to the very trailing edge of the Magic Valley this is a huge market if one were to look at it. But unles your a big dawg daddy driving a long and lean Caddy, few in the local media even take time to look at you. When I get told by media types hey you go find the talent and produce the ad, and then we'll put t on, its nearly as bad as if I were to tell my farming customers, hey you go get the plane, get the furtilizer and then I'll apply it for you, more over like now that its snowing if I told even one of my trucking customers hey you go get the tow truck, buy the fuel, then I'll go tow your rig off the road, I don't think it would take long for them to be looking for another service provider. Yet that's exactly what the media in Pocatello are doing. I really though think that its the amount of visible money one looks like they can spend as to just how much effort the sales departments of these TV stations here apply to a prospective client. There is a Satellite TV dealer here that blows the horn with a hot babe that sezz how big is your TV? The local TV stations allow that but fumble and have trouble with me kissing some chicks toe and saying in our ads we just love TOWS(toes). Its the same thing, some little thing that makes someone remember us. If one is to go to so much trouble producing their own TV ad, why not use that same equipment etc to produce ads for other like minded or types of business's. Like say us who are into high performance everything , we could produce ads for other hot rod , hot truck etc bizzness's. To that end and since we have to find sweet hiney for our ads , the BlackSheep thinks why not create a stink and build an talent/as well as ad agency here. Putting in the concept of saying we are not a talent agency with loads of promises, but an ad agency wanting to train talent for for sure jobs. Have the talent cough up a few bucks to make it worth our effort to mess with them, train female since that is always the most difficult put em on our local, regional and national ads, for not only the Hazzard Garage, Southern Eagle Xpress, or such but as well as John Deere, Peterbilt, Kenworth Cat Diesel, etc even our friends at Flying J, just think if there was a production company producing ads for Flying J as well as the clients that provide services and product to Flying J that Flying J runs on their own satellite closed circuit network system, that a media production firm could not make money? Bet your next tank of av gas they would. Be watching in Pocatello for something to be called AyreVision Media in mid 2008, as the opening gate of our talent/ad agency . Sometimes as sour as it is some folks think sometimes they don't but fact is sometimes the real truth can hurt.
